The Paradigm Shift As an engineer, your value is measured by the lines of code you ship and the bugs you resolve. As a **CTO and technical co-founder**, your leverage is measured by the clarity of your technical vision, the autonomy of your engineering team, and the reliability of systems you architect.

4 Tenets of High-Velocity Engineering

1. Technical Debt as a Calculated Liability Technical debt is not inherently evil; it is leverage. The danger arises when technical debt is unbudgeted. We enforce a **20% rule**: in every two-week sprint, exactly 20% of engineering bandwidth is allocated strictly to refactoring, telemetry upgrades, and dependency modernizations.

2. Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) Every non-trivial architectural choice (e.g., choosing Redis over Memcached, or adopting TailwindCSS) is documented in a lightweight markdown ADR tracking: - **Context & Problem Statement** - **Considered Alternatives** - **Decision Outcome** - **Trade-offs & Operational Consequences**

3. Automated Quality Gates Over Manual Bureaucracy Replace bureaucratic approval chains with automated CI/CD guardrails: strict ESLint rules, automated bundle size budgets, TypeScript strict mode, and pull request preview environments.
